How to create a single regex expression that matches sequences of strings
I’m trying to create a regex expression that can match anything in a string except itself. That is, if I have a string:
string s = « mystring contains the following: my string and my other string »;
then I would like to match any part of my string except my string and my other string. So that the output would be:
{my string, my other string}
Is that possible?

var pattern = string.Join(« | », Regex.Split(s, @ »[^\s]+ »).Select(s => Regex.Escape(s)));
var matches = Regex.Matches(s, pattern, RegexOptions.IgnoreCase);
This will split the string on any non-space character, escape it, then join all the escaped strings with « | » (which is not a special character in regex, it just means match one or more instances of that character, if there are zero or more then it will match that)
This will then look for matches in the string in case insensitive mode, ignoring case.
