Senoia is home to some of the most popular attractions in the state, including the Georgia International Horse Park, and the Barbee-Holley Museum and Archives, which is home to the largest collection of African-American artifacts in the world.
Well, at least Morgan has a cute Southern accent. He’s definitely part of the Rick-Shane-Carl group now that Shane is gone. He’s actually the sheriff of Tuscaloosa County…but he’s more or less just hanging out in Atlanta. The post office, as seen in several episodes, has seen better days and now serves as a Wells Fargo branch. The back left corner of the building now houses a chain restaurant called Abbe’s.
Heading toward the airport with your cover blown can be a pretty scary experience. Which is why a police station can be a pretty great place to score a better weapon when you’re surrounded by the walking dead. And if you look closely in this image, you can even spot some of the other places that were used as Atlanta film and TV locations…like the Bank of America branch that was used for Henry vs. Rick, and the Citibank that was used for Rick vs. Negan. Even if you don’t have a badge, you still have a few things you can do in this part of town.
Peach Delight ice cream is delicious…but the post office was the one thing that made Maggie’s stomach turn a little. This part of town might be crowded during the summer, but in the dead of winter, when the snow starts coming down, the area gets pretty desolate. The zombie inn that was shown in Season 3 is now closed (and apparently the owners don’t think there are any more walkers to kill), but there are still a few abandoned homes around. And if you’re not getting hungry yet, there’s something to be said for hoarding at the local supermarket. But, if you’re looking to visit filming locations other than Atlanta, there are other Walking Dead locations in Georgia that are open to the public.
Ok so this one kind of takes some sleuthing… It’s in Oakland, California. But as of 2016, it’s not really a Walking Dead filming location – but it’s got the perfect skyline and the perfect time period for the opening of The Walking Dead: When the show begins the cities architecture and skyline are going through a major change. Take a look around Oakland, and you’ll see how the American downtown skyline is much different than it was in the 1960s.
So, if you’re a fan of The Walking Dead and interested in what the show is going to look like going forward, it would be in your best interest to think about staying in one of the most picturesque settings from the show: The New York City skyline. There are places for you to stay that have views of the city which will make you feel like you’re walking through the set of the show. Plus, most of the big sites and events that show audiences will be seeing have something to do with New York, so for a sweet Walking Dead location!

Once inside they have an awesome movie theater with plenty of seating and seating for EVERYONE. They also have the Savannah Film Festival, which includes events like panel discussions, a sneak preview, film screenings, and other events. In addition to being a very exciting place to visit during this time of year, it made for an incredible atmosphere for our little Walking Dead scavenger hunt. No word of the festival having a Walking Dead presence, but certainly not a stranger who showed up halfway through without the AMC guards ever suspecting they were coming!
