It’s a very small and useful program to change and restore (after reboot) LCD screen « hardware » brightness on Intel GMA family video adapters (all Atom laptops and much more).

Application Tray Icon:
The application tray icon is a small icon displayed on the right side of
the screen, usually just to the right of the system tray. The icon will
mimick the standard icon used by the system to represent system tray
applications.
Intelligent Display Sleep:
Just like the system sleep settings, the GMAACTL application will suspend
or power down the screen when not in use. A checkbox in the Preferences
screen allows the user to disable this option.
Note: The current brightness level (in the system tray) is
automatically preserved when the display is put to sleep.
System Tray Notification:
At any given time, a small notification icon will be displayed on the
system tray when an update of the GMAACTL application is available.
To view this icon, right click on the system tray and select Preferences.
Then select the System tray icon option.
Tabs in Preferences:
The preferences can be accessed in separate tabs. These tabs can be
toggled on and off via the GMAACTL Settings Menu or the Options Menu.

brightness of the LCD screen by changing the values in the screen. The
